The appearance of the female intimate surroundings depends on at least several factors. The overall presentation of the genital area is affected by all parts of the female body located in this region, such as the clitoris and labia, which are distinguished by two types: the labia majora and the labia majora smaller.

Some of the patients are dissatisfied with what their intimate surroundings look like. The degree of this dissatisfaction can be so great that a woman can both experience significant complexes, and even - due to the feeling of embarrassment - avoid making sexual contacts. Modern medicine offers treatments that make it possible to change the appearance of labia smaller - these procedures are referred to as labioplasty. Indications for the procedure

The treatment can give beneficial results also in women who have an asymmetry between their labia smaller - thanks to the procedure, it is possible to correct existing defects.

Contraindications for the procedure

Generally, it can be said that laser labiaplasty of smaller labia may be performed in those patients whose overall health is good. Conditions that may prevent the surgery may be:

• burden with a chronic disorder with unnormal course (eg diabetes or heart failure),
• pregnancy and breastfeeding,
• cancer disease,
• the presence of significant blood coagulation disorders in the patient (through which there would be a risk of prolonged bleeding after laser labia smaller labia),
• bleeding from the genital tract, the cause of which is unknown,
• period,
• infections in the area of tissues to be treated.

Before the surgery

The preliminary stage before laser labora- mics of the labia may be smaller - consultation with the doctor who would perform the procedure. A consultation visit is of crucial importance, because it is during it that the most important thing is checking if the correction of the appearance of the labia smaller is necessary for the patient and whether the laser procedure allows achieving the expected effects of the treatment. In the case of the first of the above-mentioned goals of consultation, it is necessary to conduct a gynecological examination supplemented with an accurate assessment of the structure of the labia smaller.

One of the elements of the subjective examination is the question about the drugs used by the study. In the period preceding the procedure, it is beneficial to limit the consumption of alcohol, and in the case of patients who use tobacco products, they are recommended to quit. The use of these stimulants may adversely affect the general condition of the body, and thus extend the recovery period after laser labia lower lesions. How does the procedure work?

The laser correction of the labia begins with anaesthesia of the area to be treated. Then - after making sure that the patient will not feel any discomfort - it is possible to proceed to the essential stage of the procedure.

Thanks to the use of lasers, this type of labioplasty is definitely less invasive than the classic, surgical methods of correction of the appearance of the labia smaller. During laser labia of the lesion labia, the patient's excess tissue is mostly removed. The scope of interventions depends strictly on the exact problem that the patient has. If both her labia majora are clearly larger, during the procedure, the doctor seeks to remove excess tissue. If a woman volunteered to undergo surgery due to the existence of asymmetry between these parts of her reproductive organs, then the aim of the doctor is to make an appropriate correction of the labia smaller.

The laser labioplastics of the labia smaller usually takes about 60-120 minutes - the exact time of the procedure depends on how much correction the patient requires. There is a possibility that after the procedure, the patient will stay in the medical facility for a short observation, but it is really short - on the same day the patient returns to her home.

Time and course of convalescence

After laser labia with lesser labia, the biggest restrictions on normal life activity usually last for one week after the surgery. During this time, patients are recommended to rest, therefore, it would be best to stay at home for 7 days after the procedure.

During the first 7-14 days after the procedure, the patients may experience pain and edema within the reproductive organs. Such phenomena are generally considered to be natural consequences of the surgery. In case of severe pain, patients may take painkillers prescribed for them by a doctor. However, it should be noted that in the case of extremely strong edema or in case of very severe pain (especially one that does not disappear despite the use of painkillers), patients should consult their doctor.

In general, the entire recovery period after surgery is usually four weeks. After this time, it becomes possible to do sports as well as engage in sexual activity.

Effects after surgery

The result of the labia lesion of labia lesions is to make these parts of the female reproductive organs look the most in line with the expectations of the patient. Due to the procedure too large labia may be reduced accordingly, and in the case when the woman experienced discomfort associated with the asymmetry between the construction of these structures, it is also possible to eliminate this problem.

Recommendations after the procedure

How long do the effects last after the treatment last?

Generally, the results of laser labioplastics of the lesion labia are permanent - the tissues removed from this region do not grow back. It is possible, however, that the appearance of the pudding will change over time. Such a situation may occur, for example, when the patient - even after the surgery - still has children. The appearance of the intimate surroundings is also affected by the passage of time - with subsequent years, the labia smaller may change their appearance even by a general decrease in tissue firmness.

How to avoid complications after the procedure?

To reduce the risk of complications as much as possible, patients should carefully choose a physician to go to the labia with the lower labia. Simply using the services of an experienced aesthetic gynecologist can make the risk of complications significantly reduced.

Patients must also remember that compliance with post-treatment recommendations also reduces the risk of complications. It is also worth mentioning that if even complications after laser correction of smaller labia occur, the sooner their treatment is implemented, the lower the risk that complicated and serious complications will arise. For this reason, patients are sensitized to the fact that if they experience any disturbing ailments (such as fever or significant redness of the intimate area), they should not hesitate and seek medical help as soon as possible.

• prolonged occurrence of edema of the intimate parts,
