Not very even ones, tooth discoloration, gaps between teeth cause that we are reluctant to smile. A perfect solution for people who dream of a new, dazzling smile are veneers. Veneers are thin plates that are glued to the front surface of teeth, hiding all imperfections of the teeth. Thanks to the dental veneers you can lighten the tooth, rebuild the tooth, give it a new color or shape, extend, extend and eliminate the gaps between the teeth. They can also be used in the case of minor damage, furrows, cracks or other obvious defects. Dental veneers are a great alternative to all extraction methods of improving teeth. Their installation does not require removing the tooth but only covering its defects.

In the case of significant damage, however, ceramic crowns must already be used. Dental veneers are extremely delicate and therefore they are most often used on the front teeth. As a rule, porcelain veneers are assumed from three to three or from four to four. Crowns are used for chewing teeth. The method of their insertion involves a slight interference in the tooth - a small amount of enamel is removed. The color veneers are similar to natural enamel. Dental veneers are not susceptible to abrasion, decay or discoloration. The veneers ensure a good tightness at the joints of the veneer with the tooth, therefore no bacterial plaque is deposited there. in addition, special cements with antibacterial additives on which veneers are glued are also used.

Dental veneers are installed in dental offices by dentists, it is performed very carefully and is virtually painless. However, there are veneers that do not require polishing the tooth. These additive veneers. These are thin-walled veneers painted on platinum foil and new in Poland - GlamSmile veneers (known in the USA as Lumineers). The GlamSmiles are so thin (0.3 mm) that the tooth structure does not have to be tampered with and does not require grinding. Often, these veneers are called "no preparation" veneers. The method of putting them on involves sticking the veneer on a healthy tooth. It is therefore a painless and non-anesthetic procedure.

The dental veneers are also characterized by the material from which they are made. Due to the material, we can divide veneers into:

• porcelain veneers - made of acrylic and ceramic. They can have any color adapted to the natural color of the teeth. They are resistant to damage and discoloration of the tooth;
• composite veneers - they are made of light-cured material, but they are short-lived, they quickly fall off and change color. They have a uniform color and therefore often look artificial;
• acrylic veneers - they are made of acrylic mass. acrylic veneers are usually used as substitute or temporary before the final veneer is put on;
• Ceramic veneers - they are more similar in color to natural teeth. They are made of feldspar ceramics: silica, kaolin, quartz and dyes;
• all-ceramic veneers - in the structure they resemble tooth layers, have porcelain dentin and enamel.

The most common types of veneers used in dental surgeries are porcelain veneers. Mainly because they are flexible, durable, they show high resistance to discoloration and tartar deposition.
