Lipofilling paragraph - characteristics

For many women the lips are a particularly interesting area of the body. If the lip make-up was already done in ancient times, it probably is not surprising that today, when we have such a large availability of various cosmetic preparations, a significant number of women emphasize the appearance of their lips. The genes inherited primarily determine how human lips look. Just as you can change your genetic information (at least for now), you can influence the appearance of the mouth. Basic changes can be achieved by applying lipsticks, lipsticks or lip gloss to the lips. Thanks to the makeup, you can, for example, emphasize the contour of the lips or make them appear larger. The explanation, however, requires that you can only enlarge the mouth optically. Patients may, however, express a desire to have permanently enlarged mouths - nowadays the achievement of such an effect is possible.

Lip augmentation and plastic surgery specialists usually deal with lip augmentation. A person who is planning a procedure that changes the appearance of her lips must think about the method by which the procedure will be performed. For lip augmentation you can use, for example, transplant your own skin, but you can also use one of the currently available medical fillers. These substances can be of both synthetic origin and completely natural. One of the more well-known medical fillers are preparations of hyaluronic acid. Also compounds such as calcium hydroxyapatite or preparations containing polylactic acid may also be used to enlarge the lips. The examples mentioned above, however, are materials that generally come from an external source - it is possible to use the material that is fully natural to enlarge the lips, and it comes directly from the patient himself. I am talking about the transplantation of adipose tissue in this case.

Lipofilling (lip augmentation with a fat graft) is not a procedure that has been available since recently. In fact, the technique of fat tissue transplantation is interesting for doctors for a long time - the first concepts regarding the use of this tissue material appeared already at the end of the 19th century. At that time, however, these treatments could not become popular - the problem was constraints related to the collection of material for transplantation. Less than a century later, because around the 1980s, various liposuction techniques began to develop. It was then that the adipose tissue was used to model various elements of the human body.

Lip augmentation with own body fat graft may arouse patients' interest not only due to the fact that the material is used during its natural origin - this treatment has many other advantages.

Lipofilling ust- benefits

For many patients, the advantage of lip lipillation is probably that the size change of this part of their body occurs with the use of completely natural, and directly derived from it, material. Other aspects of this treatment can include such aspects:

• after lipofilling, the hospitalization - even short - is not required,
• performing the procedure takes a little time (usually a few dozen minutes is enough),
• during one patient's stay in a treatment facility it is possible to achieve two effects - it may be possible to remove excess fat from certain parts of the body (eg from the abdominal region or thighs), and the removed material may not be used for disposing of, but may be used to enlarge the lips .
• the invasion of lip augmentation with a fat graft is not significant - the introduction of transplanted fat into the mouth is usually done by injecting the transferred tissue,
• convalescence after lipofilling the mouth lasts only a few days, so after this treatment patients are not forced to give up their daily obligations for a long time.

Indications for the procedure

The basic indication for lip augmentation with a body fat graft is the dissatisfaction of the patient with the appearance of this part of his body. A feature of some people is that their lips are just narrow - just like some people do not bother them at all, so it can be a source of even large complexes for other patients. Lipofilling lips not only allows for the overall increase of the lips' dimensions, but also thanks to this procedure it is possible - in patients struggling with such a problem - to align their asymmetry between some parts of the mouth.

Contraindications for the procedure

Although lipofilling (not liposuction) is not a procedure of high invasiveness, however, any method of lip augmentation can not be used anyway. This situation results from the fact that there are some contraindications to lip augmentation of the own fat tissue.

Among them are listed:
• occurrence of a chronic illness in an unstable patient (eg diabetes, heart failure or renal dysfunction),
• cancers,
• blood coagulation disorders (especially those associated with an increased risk of bleeding, which may result, for example, from the patient suffering from a bleeding diathesis or taking blood clotting preparations such as aspirin, warfarin or acenocoumarol),
• pregnancy and breastfeeding,
• autoimmune diseases (e.g. systemic lupus erythematosus),
• the existence of active inflammation of the skin in places where lipophilisation of the mouth would occur (such as herpes labialis).

Among the contraindications, one should certainly mention the condition that can simply ... prevent lipofilling. I am talking about too low weight of the patient - in very thin people it may be that there will simply be no place to get body fat for transplantation.

Before the surgery

Before lipofilling the mouth must be consulted, during which the doctor first of all makes an assessment of whether the procedure is really appropriate for a given patient and whether it will allow him to achieve the results expected by the patient. Some specialists have the habit of making photographic documentation during consultations - it is intended to allow comparison in the future of how the patient's lips looked before the surgery, how they look after the procedure. During the consultation the doctor collects an accurate interview from the patient - the purpose of the interview is to make sure the candidate for lip augmentation with a body fat graft is in good health, and any possible contraindications to the procedure being ruled out.

If, in fact, lipofilling is considered a procedure that is suitable for the patient and there are no contraindications to it, it is now possible to plan when the procedure will be carried out.

The patient with whom the lip augmentation should be performed, usually does not receive a long list of pre-surgical recommendations. The most important thing in the pre-trial procedure is probably the state in which the patient should be in the treatment facility. I am talking about the fact that you should go to the clinic without any make-up (even a delicate one). Patients may be wondering if mouth lipofilling should be fasted before lipopilling - local anaesthesia is used for this procedure, not general, therefore before the procedure of eating a light meal, it is sometimes recommended by physicians.

As some general recommendations one can treat those that relate to the drugs used by patients. Smokers may be advised to stop using nicotine-containing products, in addition, the patient may be asked to significantly reduce the amount of alcohol consumed. In this case, the issuing of such recommendations is related to the fact that these stimulants lead to deterioration of the general state of the body. For example, the effect of nicotinism is a decrease in the amount of oxygen in the body, and this can lead to both deteriorated tissue regeneration and to the prolongation of the convalescence period after lipofilling the mouth.

Specific recommendations for lip augmentation may include those who take certain medications chronically. This applies above all to those who regularly use preparations that reduce blood clotting. The use of such pharmacotherapy may be a contraindication to the procedure, however, some patients may temporarily discontinue the preparation. If the doctor gives the patient such a recommendation, then only after making sure that such a procedure will not lead to the occurrence of any risk to the patient's health. It should be clearly stated here that patients should definitely not introduce any changes in the dosage of their medicines themselves - these should be introduced only when the doctor advises.

Type of anaesthesia

Patients who are afraid of possible lip-related transplantation of their own body fat, pain can be calmed down - lipofilling lips is a procedure carried out under local anaesthesia.

How does the procedure work?

Lip augmentation with a fat graft begins with the anaesthesia of those areas of the body that will undergo the procedure. After making sure that the patient will not experience any discomfort, it becomes possible to start basic interference.

In general, lipofilling (mouths) can be divided into two stages. In the first it is necessary to obtain a tissue that will later be implanted in the mouth. For this purpose, various liposuction techniques are used, however, it should be emphasized that not every method of liposuction can be used in procedures related to the transplantation of adipose tissue. The material collected can not be subject to significant damage, therefore delicate liposuction techniques, such as water liposuction, are used in procedures associated with lipofilling. The fatty tissue collected may come from various areas of the body, e.g. from the abdomen, hips or thighs. The material collected does not immediately go into the mouth - it must first be treated appropriately, for example by centrifugation. This is to separate adipose tissue cells from other - unnecessary - ingredients.

When the first lip lipfilling process is finished, it becomes possible to proceed to the next part of the procedure. Pre-prepared material is usually introduced into the inside of the mouth by means of injection. The amount of transplanted adipose tissue depends on how much the patient wants to enlarge their mouth.

The duration of lip augmentation with a body fat graft is not long - usually a few tens of minutes (about an hour) is sufficient to perform the procedure. After lipofilling, it is not necessary to stay in the hospital for a short time - the patient returns home the same day.

Time and course of convalescence

Convalescence after lipofilling the mouth lasts only a few (about 5-10) days. During this period, patients may experience certain mouth ailments, such as their swelling or bruising. The mentioned ailments, however, are temporary - they usually disappear spontaneously within a few days of enlarging the lips with a transplant of their own adipose tissue.

Effects after surgery

As a result of lip lip flushing, it usually takes the patient's desired appearance of this part of his body. Thanks to the treatment, the patient's lips can become fuller and more prominent. If the procedure was performed due to the asymmetry between some parts of the mouth, then traveling through it makes it possible to eliminate such problems.

It is very important to emphasize when the effects of lip augmentation with your own fat tissue appear. Well, the original result can be seen even when leaving the clinic, although this is not the final effect. This is due to the fact that part of the transplanted adipose tissue is simply lost. How much of the transplanted cells remain within the mouth is a quite individual feature. Generally, specialists are of the opinion that within the mouth can stay up to 7/10 of the total amount of transplanted adipose tissue.

The final result of lip augmentation with a body fat graft can be assessed after 6-12 weeks after the procedure - this is how much time is involved in the processes of integrating the transplanted adipose tissue.

Recommendations after the procedure

After enlarging the lips with a transplant of own fat, patients do not experience significant restrictions on their daily life activities. For about a week after surgery, they should not undertake significant physical activity. When it comes to activities such as using the sauna or going to the pool, patients should abstain from them for about two weeks - the use of these could be related to the intensity of the postoperative swelling of the mouth.

How long do the effects last after the treatment last?

Lipofilling effects can be observed over the years - it is even said that the results of the treatment can last for up to 10 years. How long the effects will be visible, however, is quite an individual feature. There are patients who have a relatively low body fat, which is taken in the recipient area - such people can be offered additional lipofilling lips shortly after the first treatment.

How to avoid complications after the procedure?

Lipofilling lips is a procedure after which complications are rare. Despite this, patients can still reduce this low risk even further. It is important to choose the doctor to whom they go - using the services of an experienced, trusted doctor in itself significantly reduces the risk of potential complications after the procedure. Mention should also be made of the role of the patients themselves - if they follow the recommendations obtained after the procedure, they will also significantly reduce the risk of complications.

Possible complications after the procedure

Complications after lip augmentation with own fat graft do not stand out much - undesirable phenomena are simply rare. This situation is related to the fact that lipofilling uses natural tissue, coming directly from the patients themselves - thanks to this the risk of such complications of lipofilling, which is transplant rejection, does not exist.

Among potential complications of lip augmentation, the transplantation of your own fat tissue includes:

• the occurrence of prolonged lip swelling,
• bleeding,
• insufficient or excessive correction of the appearance of the lips,
• the appearance of hypertrophic scars,
• infection of the tissues undergoing treatment.

Recommended additional treatments after the procedure

Lipofilling lips is a treatment that already allows patients to get interesting effects. Sometimes it happens that after the first procedure, the patient will still not be happy with the appearance of his lips - in this case it is possible to repeat the lip augmentation with a transplant of own fat.

However, the augmentation of the own body fat graft can be extended to model the shape of other body regions. The extension of the treatment may be, for example, lipofilling of the face, i.e. a procedure during which wrinkles may be eliminated, but it is also possible to correct the appearance of the cheeks.
