Characteristics of FUE ARTAS hair transplant surgery
The FUE ARTAS hair transplantation method is an innovative treatment on a European and even world scale, which since 2016 can also be submitted to selected clinics in Poland. In this type of hair transplantation, a modern technology is used with the use of an algorithm that is used by the ARTAS robot. His intelligent system is based on identification and selection of hair follicles of the best quality, i.e. those that are best suited for transplantation and will give the best results. The device's intelligence is also manifested in not disturbing the natural structure of the hair follicles and not damaging them during the collection.
The ARTAS Robotic Hair Transplant - benefits
The undoubted benefits of the FUE ARTAS procedure are; natural transplant effect, very short convalescence, speed and, at the same time, the accuracy of the procedure, great patient comfort (without pain), as well as the absence of any seams or scars on the head, and even distribution of "new" hair and reproduction of their natural line.
Indications for The ARTAS® Robotic Hair Transplant method
The indication for surgery is simply baldness of the scalp in both women and men. No difference as to the cause and type of baldness. Whether it is androgenetic alopecia, alopecia areata, or caused by trauma, accident, cancer. The colour (grey) and the structure of the hair (curly, straight) are also irrelevant. If there are no other medical contraindications then this method is practically for anyone who cannot or does not want to accept hair loss.
Contraindications for hair transplantation by the FUE ARTAS method
There are virtually no contraindications to the type of hair, length, type of baldness or age of the patient to perform the FUE ARTAS procedure. The problem may be only poor health, which is a contraindication to any type of hair transplant. During thorough consultation before the treatment, all health contraindications are considered and analysed, and the decision to undergo the procedure is each time highly individual.
How is the procedure performed?
In addition, during consultation, the doctor examines the hair follicles using a dermatoscope, and in the case of skin diseases, they are eliminated in dermatological treatment. The first stage of the procedure is the exact preparation of the area of the scalp from which the hair is to be taken. This area is anesthetized and shaved to the appropriate length. Then, the proper phase of the procedure begins, during which the ARTAS apparatus starts scanning the area of the donor (millimetre by millimetre) by selecting the follicles that are best suited for the transplant and collecting them one at a time. All this happens under the watchful eye of the doctor who controls the camera, putting on the head a plastic frame that delicately stretches the skin. The next phase is defining the recipient area and its hairline. It is possible to analyse the area under analysis with the use of cameras placed on the shoulder that transmit the image to the computer. After selecting the appropriate places for implantation, ARTAS performs precise punctures. The last stage of the procedure is the implantation of previously collected hair into punctured places - this operation is supported by a medical team, which together with the doctor, using appropriate tweezers, places the hair follicles in the places prepared for them.
Time and course of convalescence after hair transplantation with the FUE ARTAS method
Convalescence after hair transplantation lasts from 2 to 3 days. At that time, the scalp is healed at the transplant sites. It is important to spend the first night of the procedure sleeping with your head raised, for example in a semi-recumbent position. For the first few days, it is also recommended not to scratch or touch the transplant sites, and use ointments that speed up healing and taking medications prescribed by the doctor. Also, do not wash your hair - only on the fifth day you should pour it with lukewarm water (up to 3 times). During this time, the patient should also avoid physical activity, sexual activity and hair drying and styling products. You can wash your head only 10 days after the procedure.
How long are the effects after hair transplantation using the FUE ARTAS method?
You must wait about a year for the right treatment effects. First, the grafted proper hair falls out and the onions remain in the skin. In a few months (from 3 to 7), the hair begins to grow back. They are natural, fit well and can be stylized - including dyeing, cutting and combing. After the ARTAS treatment, no scars remain and the effects persist for many years.
